In his younger
years Bob had an “ok” body. He never had ripped abs or was never very muscular.
He was certainly not the athletic prototype or anything. But no one would have
labelled him as fat back then either. And playing for the school football team
and other activities of being young kept his body in decent shape internally,
even if he didn’t look so buff on the outside.
But then, like
for so many others life happens, and it did for Bob. He got married, settled
down, got a nice comfortable desk job and had a few kids. Life meant letting go
of physical activity and it began to show, slowly at first and then to a point
of being undeniable. He earned the nickname “Big Fat Bob.” But this was not
derogatory or anything. It was all good-natured because Bob is good natured. He
sometimes even called himself, “Big Fat Blob.”
But soon his
weight became an issue. He couldn’t sleep at night and would soon need a sleep
apnea mask. He has acid reflux a lot. And now even walking up his stairs at
home gets him winded and bothers his knees. Big Fat Bob’s nickname may be cute
but the condition he is in certainly is not. Sure enough, Bob made an
appointment to see his cardiologist.
